Play-based Learning Equipment

Fri Mar 17 10:34am

Kia ora all,

Over the last few weeks, I have been exploring play-based learning and the benefits it has for the tamariki in the class.

In order to achieve a play-based learning environment we need to source more play equipment for the classrooms. If you have any equipment surplus to your needs, that you would like to donate to Drummond School it would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for:

Blocks
Lego
Barbies
Dolls
Blankets/sheets – making huts
Shopping roleplay equipment – food, pots, pans, muffin tins etc, cash register
Old plywood – to make car roads
Toy cars
Old, phones, etc
Handbags/work bags
Boxes
Cotton Reels
Wool
Marble Run
Dinosaurs
Farm Animals
Woodwork bench – not plastic
Wood Offcuts
Hammer, Nails, kids’ helmets, safety glasses
Outside toys i.e. bikes, scooters, play hut.

If you have any questions or an item you wish to donate and you are unsure if it would be suitable – please send me an email to me at kelsi@drummond.school.nz

Thank you so much,

Kelsi O’Neill
